About Sheree Decouto

Sheree Decouto serves on staff as the Women’s Ministry Director at Fellowship Bible Church in Roswell, Georgia. She is a Bible teacher, speaker, spiritual coach for leaders, event coordinator, writer, and mentor--and that's just what she does for her day job! She is also a wife, the mother of three sons, and a mother-in-law to her first daughter-in-love. Sheree's passion is to bring the “real” factor to everything she does. Whether she's speaking to a large audience, writing, or mentoring, her goal is to be transparent about the struggles she faces so that others feel free to do the same. Most importantly, she wants to inspire those she leads to have a vibrant walk with Christ.

Don’t Let Your Thoughts Take You Captive

Yesterday I took a “selfie.” It wasn’t flattering. In fact, it was downright ugly, and I wish I could have deleted it. I’m not talking about a picture taken with my phone. The “selfie” I’m talking about was self pity. I’m usually an optimistic person, but something happened yesterday that completely threw me off. Before [...]

The Space Where Faith Begins

My heart felt heavy this week as I sat across from a friend who shared what felt like an impossible situation. Her job had become unbearable. She had tried to find something new, but every door stayed closed. She felt stuck. There was no clear way out. She’s not alone in that feeling. Life has [...]

When God Doesn’t Give You What You Want

My mama used to say, “You’ve got a bad case of the ‘I wants.’”She wasn’t wrong. And if I’m honest, I still have them. Back when Jordache, Gloria Vanderbilt, and Calvin Klein jeans were everything, my Levi’s never felt like enough. I always seemed to want what I didn’t have. The problem was my taste [...]

The Purpose Of Prison

I've been in prison, and I don't mind talking about it. Of course, I was wrongly accused—but that didn't shorten my sentence. It was dark, lonely, and frustrating. Before you start wondering what crime I committed, I should clarify: I'm not talking about a jail. I'm talking about a season of life when I felt [...]

From Prison To Purpose

I’ve had the privilege of meeting several well-known Christian authors and speakers over the years, and whenever I have the opportunity, I ask the same question: "How did your ministry get started?" The reason is simple—I want to know the secret. I want the formula. I want to understand how God took them from obscurity [...]

I Didn’t Succeed On My Merits

Eight years ago I had a dream to write a book and become a published author, a dream I felt was God's plan. Without hesitation I rose to the challenge and two years later held a completed manuscript in my hands. It had been a long and arduous process, but the hard work was finally [...]

God, I Have Questions

Have you ever asked God why? It’s a natural response when our lives aren’t playing out the way we hoped. We somehow feel that if we knew the reason why, it might make our disappointments easier to swallow. If you’ve ever asked God why, you’re in good company. Take a look at just a few [...]

How To Get Back On The Wagon With God

I tend to make everything all about me. I don’t mean to, it just happens. Never have I been as aware of this as I was a couple of weeks ago when a speaker at a conference I attended said, “God is saying to you, I MISS YOU!” It was only three words but they were [...]

Is There A Happily Ever After?

Is it just me, or have you ever wondered what happened after Cinderella and Prince Charming rode off into the sunset? As a little girl I bought the happily- ever-after ending hook line and sinker; as a grown woman I know what palace life is really like. Despite what my real life experiences have taught [...]

Shouldn’t God’s Will Be Easy To Know?

Shouldn't your God-given dream, purpose, or calling be easy to obtain? Seven years ago God gave me a huge dream for ministry. In it I saw myself on stage in a big arena preaching His word and making a great impact for His kingdom. I thought, Watch out Beth Moore here I come! Seven years [...]
