Sometimes the most unexpected moments turn into the most meaningful ones.

Like sitting in a drive-thru line, waiting on something simple, and deciding to ask a question that cuts a little deeper.

“If there was one thing you could do with your life, what would it be?”

The young man at the window paused. You could tell he wasn’t expecting that. Then he smiled and said he wanted to be a businessman. He pictured himself in one of those big offices downtown.

It wasn’t just a dream. It was something real to him.

So the next question came naturally.

“What’s one thing you can do this week to move toward that?”

His answer was simple. He was starting school.

That’s how it begins. Not with everything figured out. Not with every resource in place. Just one step.

Still, a lot of people never take that step. Not because they don’t have a dream, but because they feel unprepared.

They look at what they don’t have.

Not enough money.
Not enough education.
Not enough courage.
Not enough time.
Not enough influence.

But that’s not a new problem. It’s how every God-sized story starts.

Noah didn’t have the materials when he was told to build the ark.
Moses didn’t have the power to part the sea.
Nehemiah didn’t have a crew, supplies, or permission when the burden first hit his heart.

They all started the same way. With a call and a choice.

The difference isn’t resources. It’s hope.

Hope is what moves you forward when you can’t see the whole path. It’s what gives faith something to stand on. Scripture reminds us that faith rises out of hope. And when hope is alive in you, you already have enough to begin.

There have been moments when stepping forward didn’t make sense on paper. Moving without the money. Saying yes without knowing how it would work. Taking action before everything lined up.

And each time, provision followed obedience.

Not always early. Not always in the way expected. But always right on time.

That’s how God works.

Your part is not to figure everything out. Your part is to say yes.

If God placed something in your heart, He did it on purpose. He’s not waiting for you to become fully equipped. He’s inviting you to trust Him enough to begin.

So don’t wait for perfect conditions.

Take the step you can take today.

And maybe it’s worth asking yourself the same question that started it all:

If there was one thing you could do with your life… what would it be?
