People often talk about purpose in terms of what they do. A career. A role. A skill they’ve built over time. Those things matter, but they are not the deepest reason you are here.

There is a greater purpose. A first calling that comes before all the others.

The apostle Paul made it clear. Above everything else, he wanted to know Christ. Not just serve Him. Not just talk about Him. Know Him.

That is the priority purpose God has given to every believer.

It sounds simple, but it is easy to miss. There is a difference between knowing about Jesus and actually knowing Him. One fills your mind. The other changes your life.

You can learn facts about Jesus and still feel distant. You can understand Scripture and still feel unchanged. But when you truly know Him, something shifts. You begin to experience His presence. His power becomes real. Your desires start to change. Your life begins to look different.

Paul described it this way in Philippians 3. Everything he once valued lost its place when he saw the worth of knowing Christ. Status, success, effort, even his own goodness. None of it compared. He wanted to know Jesus deeply. To experience His power. To share in His life.

That kind of knowing is not casual. It is personal. It grows over time. It comes through trust, surrender, and daily walking with Him.

This is the purpose that shapes every other purpose.

So it is worth asking a few honest questions.

Are you just learning about Jesus, or are you walking with Him?
Where do you see His presence in your daily life?
How is He changing you from the inside out?

God is not distant. He invites you into a real relationship. Not built on effort, but on faith. Not based on what you achieve, but on who He is.

My prayer for you is simple. That you would know Christ. Not at a distance, but up close. That you would experience the same power that raised Him from the dead. And that as you walk with Him, your life would be changed in ways you cannot ignore.
