Sometimes the hardest place to be is not in failure or pain—but in uncertainty. You’re not sure which step to take, which door to walk through, or even what you truly want anymore. You pray, you think, you wait… and still feel unsure.
But direction doesn’t begin with a roadmap—it begins with trust.
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to Him, and He will make your paths straight.” (Proverbs 3:5–6)
Notice it doesn’t say you will figure it out. It says He will make the path straight.
God is not waiting for you to have it all together before guiding you. He leads while you’re uncertain. He directs while you’re still learning to trust. Your responsibility is not to see the whole path—just to take the next step in faith.
Sometimes direction comes quietly:
- A sense of peace you can’t explain
- A door that opens unexpectedly
- A door that closes despite your effort
- Wise counsel that confirms what’s stirring in your heart
If you’re feeling lost today, don’t panic. You’re not abandoned—you’re being led, even if it doesn’t feel obvious yet.
Instead of asking, “Where am I going?”
Try asking, “God, what’s my next faithful step?”
Clarity often comes after obedience, not before.
Prayer:
God, I don’t always know where I’m going, but I trust that You do. Quiet my fears and steady my heart. Help me not to rush ahead or fall behind, but to walk closely with You. Show me the next step, and give me the courage to take it. Amen.
You may not see the full path—but you are never walking it alone
